We’re thrilled to announce the launch of the Matter of Art Fund — a new artist-led initiative from This Artists Dream designed to support fine artists working in physical media. As part of this new venture, we’re also opening applications for the 2025 Matter of Art Grant, offering unrestricted cash awards to artists who turn raw material into beauty, story, and wonder.

Why We Created the Matter of Art Fund

At This Artists Dream, we believe in living with art — not just looking at it. That same belief inspired us to create the Matter of Art Fund, a way to return creative capital to the community that inspires us every day. Funded in part by proceeds from our clothing and product line, the Fund exists to support the kind of artists who:

• Work in traditional or mixed physical media

• Explore imagination through tangible form

• Bring their personal vision to life through material engagement

Announcing the 2025 Matter of Art Grant

The Matter of Art Grant is the first initiative under the Fund. In our inaugural cycle, we’re awarding:

• 1 Grand Grant of $1,000

• 2 Runner-Up Grants of $500 each

These are unrestricted cash awards. That means you choose how to use the funds — for materials, time, space, or however you best grow your practice.
